Something Classical, Something Jazzy, and a Typewriter Concerto?

  • Cascadia Art Museum 190 Sunset Ave. S., #E Edmonds, WA, 98020 United States (map)

Come to this show of bass inclusive chamber music. Hear music you will like but have never heard, and music you will likely have never heard in this way.

The program will feature rarely performed chamber works including a piece by Bohemian 19th century composer Johann Kalliwoda (a contemporary of Brahms), a bravura trio suite by Fritz Skorzeny and Divertimento for string trio by Czek composer JB Van Hall. Percussionist Don Deitrich will join us for a fun and whimsical set including Leroy Anderson’s Typewriter Concerto, Take Five by Paul Desmond and some rolliky Irish jigs. Don plays on a “drum set” made of found objects, household doo dads and random office equipment!

Musicians:

Pamela Liu (violin)

William Goodwin (viola)

Don Dieterich (percussion)

Anna Doak (double bass)
